We use CONTINUOUS forms for actions and happenings that have started but not finished.
But, there is some verbs are not normally used in this way. Example, we don't say "I am knowing" or "They are liking". But, we say "I know" or "They like".
PRESENT SIMPLE :
Subyek + V.1 + S/ES
PRESENT CONTINUOUS :
Subyek + To be (Is/Am/Are) + V.Ing
A. The following verbs are not normally used in the present continuous :
(Tidak perlu ada penambahan V.Ing pada kata kerja2 dibawah ini, jika ditemukan dalam present continuous)
LIKE WANT KNOW MEAN REMEMBER CONTAIN
LOVE NEED REALISE UNDERSTAND BELONG CONSIST
HATE PREFER SUPPOSE BELIEVE FIT SEEM

Situation :
* When THINK means "believe" or "have an opinion". We DON'T USE the CONTINUOUS.
Example : 1. I think Zaira is Indonesian, but i'm not sure. (not, "I'm thinking"). #Believe
2. What do you think about my plan? (not, "what do you thinking"). # Have an opinion
*When THINK means "consider". The CONTINUOUS is possible.

Example : He never thinks about other people. He is very selfish.
"He is being selfish" - Lebih kepada tingkah/sikap/hanya perasaan dari orang lain.
